Community Legal Centres Queensland will be holding a practical workshop designed to help community lawyers and advocates use the Human Rights Act to advocate for better outcomes for their clients.
The session will be delivered by Human Rights lawyer and advocate Ben Schokman on 20 March 2019.
This session will cover:
- What are human rights
- Context for the introduction of the Human Rights Act in Queensland
- Key provisions and lessons from other jurisdictions with similar human rights legislation
The workshop will also incorporate interactive scenarios to provide participants with practical strateges and tools for using Queensland's Human Rights Act in practice.
Those attending this training session will receive a copy of the slides as well as a handbook on the Human Rights Act and information on further resources and support.
