As the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic changes daily, we want to ensure you are informed of how the outbreak will affect you, your organisation, and clients and that you have relevant and accurate information in one place. 

In this section we have curated resources, tools, and information that is most relevant to the community services sector and we continue to update the website as the situation evolves.

We've included answers to some frequently asked questions impacting the sector and the communities we serve, as well as information for service providers, and details about the supports available for clients. We've also included some resources, guidelines and templates to help keep vital services running during this crisis.

What is QCOSS doing?

QCOSS CEO Aimee McVeigh has been attending Queensland Government briefings and has been actively working with the Department of Communities, Disability Services and Seniors' Human and Social Recovery Committee and the Vulnerable People's Working Group, offering support and assistance in developing an action plan for the community services sector in Queensland.

Aimee has also attended briefings with the Department of Child Safety, Youth and Women, along with the Department of Housing and Public Works.

QCOSS and Community Services Industry Alliance (CSIA) are co-hosting an industry taskforce that will work towards a community sector response to COVID-19. 

An extraordinary meeting of peaks organisations has been conducted and will continue to meet as required.

QCOSS is part of the COSS network which represents the state, territory and national Councils of Social Service throughout Australia. QCOSS is working closely with the COSS network to respond nationally to COVID-19, including providing our sector with reliable advice and ensuring that we provide government with insights from our sector. 

QCOSS is responding to community concerns and questions through regular updates via email and Community Door, as well as continuing to advocate and provide direct feedback to government.
