National Youth Week 2011

National Youth Week is the largest annual celebration for young people in Australia. It is supported by Australian, State, Territory and Local Governments to promote a positive profile of young people as they enjoy participating in entertaining and informative activities, in their communities and the within the virtual environment. It is a unique opportunity for young people to highlight their issues and concerns, and express their ideas and opinions. More than 200 National Youth Week projects, events and activities were held across Queensland during 2010 ranging from music performances to sporting competitions, creative workshops to movie nights, festivals to forums. 

National Youth Week 2011 will be held from 1 to 10 April, and the theme is “Own It”. Organisations are invited to apply for grant funding to assist in hosting projects and events until 4 October 2010. Funding available for National Youth Week 2011

Community organisations wishing to host National Youth Week (1 to 10 April 2011) events across the state are encouraged to apply for a share of grants funding totalling $70,000.

Grants will be provided to support events and assist young people and the broader community to celebrate the achievements and contributions of young Queenslanders aged 12 to 25 years.
