Following on from the Standards Self Assessment process the community services sector received positive feedback from the Department of Communities regarding the successful completion of this first phase of the Standards for Community Services. The response rate to the self assessment phase was extremely high.
The Fact Sheet from the Department of Communities entitled ‘Fact Sheet - NGOs Standards for Community Services’ gives a brief history of the Standards for Community Services Project to date including some results of the Self Assessment process. The fact sheet also contains some information on the next phase of meeting the standards. Organisations need to implement the improvement plans they developed as part of the self assessment process and to meet the standards by January 2011.
